چکیده
Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is one of the indicators used to monitor level pollution in surface water. To recycle agricultural water resources, it crucial monitor, a timely manner, whether COD exceeds control standard. A diagnostic model was developed using visible near-infrared spectroscopy (Vis-NIR) combined with partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS–DA). total 127 samples were collected from Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The content measured potassium dichromate method. spectra recorded Vis-NIR spectrometer, and spectral data pre-processed four different methods. improve accuracy simplicity model, synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS) algorithm enhance performance. best PLS–DA achieved an 88%, SMOTE–PLS–DA had 94%. SMOTE could despite imbalance. CARS–SMOTE–PLS–DA 97% accuracy, CARS band selection improved discrimination model. by 9% over that This method can not only save human material resources but also new way for real-time online

[Determination of chemical oxygen demand in water using near infrared transmission and UV absorbance method].
Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is a synthetical indicator which represents the degree of organic pollution in water. The near-infrared (NIR) transmission and the UV absorbance method based on photoelectric detection technology and spectroscopy analysis have some advantages such as high precision, speed, non-contact, no secondary pollution etc compared to conventional wet chemical method. The NIR ...
متن کاملOn-Line Measurement of the Chemical Oxygen Demand in Wastewater in a Pulp and Paper Mill Using Near Infrared Spectroscopy
Although near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy has been evaluated for numerous applications, the number of actual on-line or even on-site industrial applications seems to be very limited. In the present paper, the attempts to produce on-line predictions of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in wastewater from a pulp and paper mill using NIR spectroscopy are described. The task was perceived as very ch...
